My 3 year old son sits reading children's animal encyclopaedias, running in to me every now and then with some fact that has really interested him. I would never have believed it possible.

So, why don't more young, pre-school children read?

The limiting factor is NOT the babies, but the parents!

Babies CAN learn to read - easily; but as parents, it's pure luck whether or not we come across this simple system. Most parents simply do not!

Interested, caring parents will often set aside time regularly with their infant to read stories to them, never dreaming that they could just as easily be sharing the gift of HOW to read, even with their tiny child.
