Is Your Baby Too Young To Learn To Read?
Not at all! Learning to read is easily within your tiny child's capabilities.
Some scientists have suggested that the brain cells (more specifically the myelin sheath) is not sufficiently developed to permit a baby to learn to read. However, the fact that babies HAVE been learning to read for several decades proves this theory to be completely false! As does a baby's ability to learn spoken language - a much tougher challenge than reading.
Rather than starting too young being a problem, the real tragedy is waiting too long because, with every passing month over the age of four, the natural ability to absorb language as easily as breathing starts to diminish.
Why make our children's lives harder? The earlier they learn, the easier it is - for them.?
